Wisconsin Interstate Contracting LLC was started in September 2015 by owner, Renee Koebe.

WIC is a certified DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) through the Department of Transportation.  WIC’s services include installations of erosion control and restoration, signage, guardrail/cable barrier, clearing, and excavation.  WIC contracts as a subcontractor on WisDOT projects throughout the state of WI but also provides their services to municipalities, commercial, and residential.

In 2016 Renee received the Governor’s Wisconsin Woman Business Rising Star Award through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.  The Rising Star Award recognizes the achievements of businesses operating less than five years that have demonstrated strong growth potential. In 2017 Renee received an Exemplary Service Award from WisDOT Office of Business Opportunity & Equity Compliance DBE Program.  In recognition of her succession planning.

When Renee started WIC in 2015 her first two employees were her son’s; Austin Bonnell, currently Shop Manager and Justin Bonnell.  As WIC grew and added more employees her husband, Rob Koebe came on board as a Superintendent. Renee’s daughter, Kaitlin Bonnell, started working summers at age 15 as a crew member and has become more involved in all aspects of the company.  WIC currently employees 10 people which increases during summer construction season. Also, in June of 2020 Lexi Kleinschmidt was hired for payroll, office management and accounts payable. 

WIC is signatory to Operator’s Local 139 and Laborer’s Local 268 unions.  Because of their continued growth there are always employment opportunities.  Email jobs@wisintercon.com for an application.
